Trial license

Post by j.bouma@247kooi.com »

Hi all,

At our company we really like to implement Forma LMS for in-house training of multiple departments and courses. We already did some functional tests in a local 3.3.17 installation. Because there 3.x version only supports really outdated PHP-versions, we like to test the 4.x of Forma LMS also, to check if it fits all needs, especially the technical requirements and integrations.

Is there any way I can download and install the 4.x version with some kind of trial
license? If all is successful we'd be happy to register as member for a yearly license.

Hope to hear about trial possibilities. Thanks!

Hello, thanks for the question.
But it's really much simpler than that: just register as a member and you'll be able to download the latest version.
Or wait some months, when the newer version will be released then the current 4x will be downloadable by non-members.

Thanks for your quick response. Maybe I'm missing something, but logged in with the same user I used to write this form post, after hitting the download button, the following message is presented:

> This is the latest stable release, only available to Association Members and Contributors.
> Read below the detailed list of changes and improvements
> Log-in as a member or contributor to download

Also a Upgrade Subscription button is presented, but pressing that redirects the session to a page screaming: "Oops!! Page not found." at URL https://www.formalms.org/profile.html#cbtabpane25

I tried different routes on the website, can't find any other way to download the Forma LMS 4.x installation files.

Hello, don't know about the route you tried but

https://www.formalms.org/component/comp ... erprofile/

Then click on subscription > upgrade

Then you are correctly presented with the payment options.

Thanks Max, but I think we do not understand each other completely.

The origin of my question is to have the software technically tested _before_ becoming a member. If there is any issue for example we cannot integrate it successfully with our authentication provider, we are trowing away 450 euro.

Therefor my question raised about some kind of trial license.

If the technical test is successful we are happy to register a paid membership, but I hope you understand the need to test drive the setup. That is how almost all software vendors are facilitating technical tests.

Hi, you can download the free version here:
https://www.formalms.org/download.html

or from the public repo here:
https://github.com/formalms/

API, authentication and integration features are basically the same, maybe fixed or improved in the members' release
