SCORM - When object finishes returns to course list instead of object list in course

First, thank you for the fantastic software. But i have a few usability issues,

First, when a student finishes a scorm object, he is returned to course list, why? Why not return to the object list within the course they are doing.

I can't find a setting that would allow me to change it. I have tried to set in the scorm file to navigate back to index, but i just navigates back to index within the scorm object iframe

Also, when scorm closes, it just says "You may now navigate away from this content and waits for me to hit the x. Id like it if i could just close it and return to item list.

Hi, and welcome on board. Thank you for your feedback.

1) return to the item list... well, because... it is like that. Not only on forma, even on other LMS'.
You can have several LO types (scorm, tests, files) and they all behave differently. Changing this behaviour would require modifying completely the list of items with something like a general purpose "player" or navigator that allows you to go to the next item. It's not simple, and one should also take into consideration many other usability factors. That might come in some future release

2) your second issue has nothing to do with Forma, but rather it has to do with your scorm authoring tool. It's the scorm that dictates the "Exit behaviour". There are several possible behaviours:
SCORM_RECOMMENDED
ALWAYS_CLOSE
ALWAYS_CLOSE_TOP
NOTHING
REDIR_CONTENT_FRAME
LMS_SPECIFIED_REDIRECT

the one you are seeing is Scorm Recommended. Don't know what tools you are using, but try to change it with ALWAYS_CLOSE or ALWAYS_CLOSE_TOP in your tool's settings.

Thank you Max. I am using Adobe Captivate as it was recommended to me and this is my first foray into online CBT.

In my captivate Publish Settings, i did set the passing grade exit behavior as close project, i also tried stop project, but neither has the desired effect.

Is there software other than Captivate you would recommend using? Pardon my ignorance.

Captivate is perfectly fine, and you can achieve the desired outcome with it.

I suggest to look in some Captivate support forum or support service with your issue and I am sure you will find the solution.
