SCORM Score

Post by drgallegos »

Is there a way to change the SCORM score in the gradebook? I've added the SCORM, and then it DOES report in the gradebook correctly, however, when I click the edit button, there is no way to edit the score. For example, when I work with a student, and I want to increase/change the score fro a 65 to a 70, I can't figure out how to do that?

Hi,

there's a reason for that. The reason is that the minimum score is not controlled by the LMS. It's normally something that you set in your scorm tracking options.

Hi Max,

I have set the minimum and max score in the SCORM object, and I still keep getting the same issue - it comes up as 0 and 0 - and I can't edit the grade. Any other ideas? By the way, I have tried to save it in different versions of SCORM, just in case, but it does the same thing. I've attached a screen shot of the settings.

Ok, good. If you've set 70% as the required score, your object will display a green flag ("passed") if the user scores at least 70%.

The user's score will display in the related column under the gradebook.

There's no need for you to set the weight in the scorm object, this is one of the things you can indeed change in the gradebook and the final score will be calculated according to a) the scorm's score b) its weight.

What I was saying is that you cannot change the values (required and maximum) for a Scorm in the gradebook, since they are defined in the scorm itself. The score will display, and it will be calculated for the final score according to the one thing you can change, i.e. its weight.

HI Max,

This is still a bit problemmatic for me. I have attached a couple of screen shots. In the gradebook, it clearly shows the scorm score, and it shows that the scorm score has a 70 minimum passing, and a 100 max, and that it weighs 100. Here is the issue, and the described screen shots:

Screen Shot 1 shows that the values for the two scorm quizzes are input properly min70, max 100 weight 100
Screen Shot 2 shows that there are scores for the scorm quizzes and that there is an average for the scorm quizzes as well
Screen Shot 3 shows that even after calculating the final score as 91 (for user gallegos), as seen in screen shot 2, the final score is not calculated, and actually shows a 0
Screen Shot 4 is the user's report card, and you will notice that in the report card it is NOT showing grades for the two scorm quizzes, ONLY for acitivites that are hand-input into the gradebook

Note that if hand-input activities are only used, there are NO issues to calculate the final grade correctly. The issues are with SCORM quiz scores.
It's not possible to use SCORM quizzes without this working correctly. Any help??

Hi,

I looked into your issue, let me just try to clarify some points:

You have 5 items, each weighing 100 (actually I would suggest to make everything weight 20, so that the total amount is 100 and not 500, but I digress). I manually calculated the score: 455 / 5 = 91, so here I don't understand what the issue is.... The gradebook correctly displays 91 for that user.

Just a clarification on what you call "report card": are you referring to the "Final score" column, that you opened with the edit button?

That is actually a way to manually insert a score, so to me it works as expected.

Hi Max,
You are correct that in the screen shot I sent you, there is an average grade - but the average grade does not include the scorm score, only the scores marked as 'activity' where the teacher can input by hand. Further, only grades that are marked as 'activity' are showing in final score, but the final grade is not, even when recalculae/round is pushed. See my two screen shots:
1. In the first screen shot, you can clearly see that the 'activity' (hand-input) grades are showing, and scorm scores are showing as 'not assigned' even though they are set for user to see. Because they are showing as 'not assigned' they are not included in the final grade, even though they are set to do so.
2. The Final Score has always showed the same thing as the last column in the grade book, and it does that if all gradebook activities are 'actdivity' only (hand-input), but not when there are scorm scores.

The only way for it to work correctly would be for me to add an activity, and call that activity SCORM Quiz Score 1..., and hand-input the scorm score, and then it works correctly. Currently it does not.

Hi,

ok, now I understand what you mean, sorry I didn't understand immediately. Yes, it's true: scorm score does not appear in the user's score card (while it appears in the other sections of the gradebook).

Gradebook had always existed even in very early versions of Docebo, while Scorm score support was only added I believe from Docebo 4X onwards. I suppose when it was added the developers didn't take into account this section. Being just a visualization issue, I believe it shouldn't be very complicated to add. Let's see if and when it can be inserted in our roadmap.
