Migrate courses to new server

Hi
I would like to find out if it is possible to batch export courses from one Forma (1.4.2) server and import them on an alternative Forma (1.4.2) server?
I have a client who's courses are currently on my Forma server (white labeled various clients - so sharing one server). I would like to move the specific client to a dedicated instance only for their courses and would appreciate an easier and quicker way to transfer over 500 course programmes....

I suggest to duplicate the entire database to the new server, and then delete the unnecessary courses and users: this way your client will keep and have access only to his own users and courses.

However a lot of usless informations will be left into the database that you should consider to remove: old users tracking data, certificate references, old forum posts, and so on. Also, certificate files for old users, their personal uploaded files (images, pdf, etc), and the materials of courses you removed.
Your client won't be able to do much with this stuff, but for privacy and to provide a clean install you should consider to remove it.

Great - thank you Alberto. Just to be clear, should I do a backup and restore of the current system, or first do a new install and then recover the database from the current server to the new server?

Do I need to do a new install first on the new server or would a normal restore of the relevant site files and database (with of cause some connection string changes) work?
I'm excluding the installation of FTP and mail functionality on the new server as that would have to be done in any case...
