Certificates

Post by dave911 »

Hi everyone,
New here - love Forma - perfect for what I need to do. (Coming from Moodle - way too complicated.)
I have figured out most things I need to do - FORMA is very intuitive - thanks to the developers.
Anyway, a question with certificates - could someone explain the difference between "Certificates" and "Meta Certificates".
I've read the DoceboLMS 4.x manual and don't understand the purpose of Aggregated/Meta certificates.
With a test student I can allocate an automatic certificate to a course and it appears for download or print under "Certificates", which is what I need, so cannot see a use for the "Meta/Aggregated Certificate" section - but then I don't know what it is for so I might use it if I did know.
Thanks,

Hi
welcome on board!
Aggregated certificates are actually very rarely used (I've never seen anybody use them). They are a certificate that puts together your completion of several courses, not only one.

Thanks Max,
That makes sense now when I read the manual and go through the process of setting up a meta-certificate.
So for example - as you indicate - might have 4 "little" courses that combine to make up one "big" course, with all the "little" courses listed separately.
All makes sense.
Could be very useful here in Australia where with a formal qualification under our vocational education system a student might pick 10 subjects (we call them units of competency) out of a total of 20 available for a full qualification, with each student getting the full qualification/certificate but with each students individual units listed - each student might pick a different selection of units to study depending on the outcomes they require. Very nice!
Thanks again for prompt answer,
Dave.

Hi, bienvenido!

sorry, we speak a little Spanish but we need to limit the discussions to Italian and English.
- Create a certificate template, with a background (jpg) of 842x595 and using all the tags you need
- assign the certificate to your courses, setting that only those who have completed the course will get the certificat
- enjoy!

(there is a lot of other things you need to know, but you better start by reading the tutorials and the manual available on this forum)
